A&E has been providing services to the AEC industry since 1964. Through the years, we've changed with you. Remember when you did all your drafting by hand and couldn't imagine drawing on a computer? Well, today the industry is poised for another big change as it transitions from Diazo printing -- an ammonia-based process used to produce bluelines -- to digital printing of CAD files or TIF images.

Digitally Imaged Blacklines
Today, most of A&E's AEC customers are printing DIBs - 400dpi prints which are easy to read, producing well-defined grayscale, intense solid fills and sharp lines. With DIBs, even drawings with the smallest details and the finest screens are clear and crisp, and DIBs won't yellow and fade like bluelines or smear when they get wet. Plus, DIBs are fast -- high speed, automated printing outputs up to 700 sheets per hour. DIBs are environmentally friendly with no ammonia smell in the air or on your prints. Need a sample? Prints can be produced from a wide variety of originals, including vellums, mylars, sepias or bond originals.
Prints can be produced from the following digital file types: PLT, DWG, TIF, CAL.
Automatic optimization of copy quality - even difficult originals such as blueprints, photographs and dark/colored documents can be reproduced with outstanding results.
Easy storage and retrieval by scanning drawings and archiving files to our Online Digital Vault, disk, tape or CD-ROM.
Reductions to 25% and enlargements to 400% can be made in one step.
Prints can be electronically stamped with dates, times and names.

Highlight Red
Allows you to identify parts of a drawing with an everyday hi-liter and have reprints made with those sections printed in red. Learn more about Highlight Red.

Online Digital Vault
An online plan room, this service allows you to make your projects available to selected individuals online for viewing and ordering. Learn more about the Online Digital Vault.

CAD Plotting
Our CAD plotting technicians are certified and trained to produce the highest quality plots. Our CAD plotting department utilizes the latest equipment and maintains a wide range of high speed plotters to ensure you have access to the best plotting technology available.

For files in the following formats a file conversion fee will apply:

MiniCAD

Universal CAD file(.dxf)

No file conversion fee for:

Plot files (.Plt)

Acrobat Files (.pdf)

Microstation plot files (.000)
