![]()
In 1993, a committee composed of representatives from the world's largest color desktop publishing manufacturers including Adobe, AGFA-Gevert, Apple, Eastman Kodak, Microsoft, Silicon Graphics, and Sun Microsystems formed the International Color Consortium (ICC). The ICC created a color standard designed to ensure consistent color across multiple devices and platforms so that color can be managed and controlled on any device that captures, displays, or prints in color.

SAME COLOR PRINTS, ANYWHERE, EVERYTIME
When the ICC standard is used as a reference, a print made in Houston
will look exactly the same as a print made on the same model of printer anywhere
else in the world because each device will be referencing back to the same
default color.
Before you can use color management, evey device in the color-managed environment must be profiled. This is done by having each device process a set of known colors values, and measuring the resulting colors that the device reads, displays, or outputs. These colors are compared to the original known color set, and the color difference between the two is calculated. This difference can then be used to define the actual color of every subsequent scan, display, or print on that device.
HIGH COLOR STANDARDS AT A&E
Every color-producing device at A&E Products has been profiled for reference
to the ICC standard. These profiles are maintained and updated on a regular
basis by a full-time Color Analyst who is devoted solely to finding solutions
regarding color. No other printer in Houston has committed to having such
consistent, calibrated color across their entire range of color printing devices.
Only A&E is dedicated enough to add Color Management to its scope of services.
